Episode 115: My Podcasting Intermission for a Soulful Reset

Today, I wanted to take a moment to share something personal with you. As therapists, we often find ourselves wearing multiple hats – as entrepreneurs, healers, and human beings. Recently, I decided to take a short break from recording the podcast weekly. It wasn’t an easy decision to make, but I realized that I needed to practice what I preach – soul care.

The past few weeks have been unexpected and challenging, leaving me feeling burnt out and in need of some time for self-care. I recognized the signs of stress and knew that I needed to prioritize my well-being. Additionally, some important shifts and changes are happening at my group counseling center that require my attention and focus.

I found myself placing undue pressure on myself to consistently release podcast episodes, driven by the fear of losing listenership. However, in a group meeting with other group practice owners, I was reminded of an important question – who is the boss of all this? The answer, of course, is me. I have the power to create boundaries and prioritize self-care.

With the understanding and support of my fellow therapists, I granted myself permission to take a few weeks off from recording. It was a liberating and necessary decision to make. During this break, I will be focusing on tending to my own soul, without the added pressure of podcasting.

I want you to know that while I value each one of you, I also believe in the importance of self-care at multiple levels. I encourage you to take the time and space you need to recharge and focus on yourself. Whether it’s scheduling time away, shifting your routines, or whatever form it may take, prioritize your well-being.

In the meantime, I invite you to revisit some of the previous podcast episodes. We’ve had some incredible interviews that you can easily find by searching the titles. I’m still accessible via email, social media, and even phone if you have my number. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need support or have any questions.

Thank you for being amazing listeners and followers. Your support means the world to me. I’ll be back in a few weeks, rejuvenated and ready to provide you with more insightful and inspiring content.

Remember, taking care of your own soul is essential for renewal and grounding as you grow your private practice. If you’d like to share anything on your mind, feel free to drop me an email at Dawn@SoulCareForTherapists.com.
